Farmers mixed on equipment sales outlook

A Missouri farmer says he thinks the recent market rally will spark equipment sales heading into 2021.

Kyle Durham from Carroll County said after months of uncertainty, recent market strength will have a trickle-down effect.

“When we do see that strengthening of the ag economy, it really has trickle effects throughout the local ag economy and the local economy as a whole,” he said.

But Saline and Cooper county farmer Isaac Christy tells Brownfield even with low interest rates, he expects farmers to be cautious.

“I think a lot of guys are sitting here saying ‘you know, it might be time just to work on some of that working capitol, build a reserve and get ready for the next cycle,” Christy said.

Durham said expects the market rally to also promote sales of other ag related products.
