Blunt says presidential election scrutiny needed due to close election

Missouri’s Senior Republican U.S. Senator Roy Blunt says he supports President Trump’s challenges to the election results.

“It seems unlikely that any changes could be big enough to make a difference but this is a close election and we need to acknowledge that.”

Blunt, speaking on ABC’s this Week on Sunday morning, said he looks forward to President Trump dealing with it however he needs to. Blunt also said Vice President Biden “did a great job” Saturday night talking about where the country wants to head. And to do that, Blunt says, the election needs to be finished “the way it deserves to be finished.”

Blunt is chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration that oversees inaugurations.
