Precipitation slows Arkansas harvest activity

Modest to heavy rainfall slowed harvest progress in Arkansas last week.   Rice is 95 percent harvested.  Cotton harvest is 75 percent complete.  Soybean harvest is 67 percent complete. 

Ninety-four percent of peanuts have been dug with 61 percent harvested.

Pastures are rated 31 percent good to excellent.  Vegetables are rated 60 percent good to excellent.  Fifty-nine percent of the winter wheat crop is planted and 48 percent is emerged. 

Ninety-three percent of Topsoil and eighty-eight percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
