Midwest Dairy, NFL, and Subway partner to help feed young people

The National Dairy Checkoff is partnering with restaurant chain Subway to raise money for the NFL’s Fuel Up to Play 60 in-school nutrition program.

Midwest Dairy CEO Molly Pelzer says all involved have a strong interest in helping youth and communities.

“Subway is making it easy by allowing customers to round up their purchases to the next nearest dollar to support the school nutrition departments in their own communities.”

She tells Brownfield schools have answered the call to feed young people during the pandemic.

“Ninety percent of the schools report to us that they are serving meals differently to follow the CDC guidelines, and they need extra support at this time. So just rounding up your purchase to the nearest dollar will help us tackle hunger.”

That campaign runs through November.

Pelzer says participating Subways are also offering 60 cent six-inch subs on Sundays as part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Healthy Habit Tracker.
