Brazil’s soybean planting pace picks up

Soybean planting in Brazil advanced 15 percentage points last week and was 23 percent complete as of last Thursday, according to consulting firm AgRural.

That is still well behind last year and the five-year average, but analysts say planting could start to catch up over the next few days. Many Brazilian farmers delayed planting due to dry conditions, but widespread rains were reported over the weekend.
