Bewitching Bash to light up the night at Soccer West October 31

A Bewitching Bash that is sure to provide a scary good time, and local families a safe alternative to traditional Trick or Treat activities this Halloween is being sponsored by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department.

Children will have the opportunity to gather goodies and show off their costumes in a parade under a spook-tacular light show that will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on October 31 at the Soccer West addition to the Muscatine Soccer Complex.

The Soccer West parking lot, located on the west side of South Houser Street, is the place to be with a socially distanced trunk or treat beginning at 6:30 p.m. A children’s costume parade like never before will commence at 7:00 p.m. under the fantastic flashing of a colorful light show.

Although there is no cost to participate in this event, goodwill donations benefitting the local community are highly encouraged. Help the Parks and Recreation Department fill their trunk with donations while you trunk or treat and fill your bags with goodies.

Non-perishable food item donations will be accepted to benefit the local food pantries sponsored by the Salvation Army of Muscatine County.

Coat, hat, and glove donations will be accepted to benefit the Coats for Kids program sponsored by United Way of Muscatine.

Participants are encouraged to wear masks or face coverings, bring their own Trick or Treat bags, maintain a six-foot distance with those outside of their group, and to park in the Muscatine Soccer Complex main lot located on the east side of South Houser Street.

Trunk decorators are needed. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department by phone at (563) 263-0241 or via email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov to reserve a parking space for your trunk.
