Rice harvest in Arkansas 89% complete

Harvest for some crops is winding down, while others are picking up steam in Arkansas.   Rice is 89 percent harvested.  Cotton harvest is 47 percent complete.  Soybean harvest is 50 percent complete with 84 percent of the crop mature.  Corn harvest is 98 percent complete. 

Seventy-eight percent of peanuts have been dug with 34 percent harvested and 95 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

Alfalfa is rated 54 percent good.  Vegetables are rated 58 percent good to excellent.  Thirty-four percent of the winter wheat crop is planted and 18 percent is emerged. 

Seventy-eight percent of Topsoil and 77 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
