Smart Start introductory basketball program available

Smart Start Basketball is an introductory basketball program designed to teach young children the basic motor skills necessary to play organized basketball. With help from their parents, participants will have the opportunity to learn ball handling, shooting, and agility skills.

Smart Start Basketball is for three- and four-year-old children who will learn the skills from trained Muscatine Parks and Recreation staff. Parent participation is required for this program.

The program will be held on Sundays beginning October 25 and running through November 15 in the Central Middle School Gymnasium. Two time frames are available to choose from: 2:00-2:45 p.m. or 3:00-3:45 p.m.

The registration fee is $25.00 for Muscatine residents and $30.00 for non-residents. A tee shirt is included in the fee. Registration is currently underway with the last day to sign up Friday, October 23.
