4-H, Corteva bring pollinator experience to youth

Corteva Agriscience and 4-H continue to expand the 4-H Pollinator Habitat Program.

Kansas farmer Greg Peterson of the Peterson Farm Brothers tells Brownfield the program is expected to reach 30,000 youth over the next three years.

“They’ll be provided with a toolkit to plant they’re own pollinator gardens at home and in their community to help increase biodiversity.”

Lauren Baugh is a 14-year old from Arkansas who has been beekeeping for the past five years and is serving as a 4-H teen ambassador.

“One in every three bites we eat is the result of pollinators and spreading the word on the importance and benefits of pollinators will help ensure that pollinators can keep contributing to our world’s food supply.”

In 2018, Corteva Agriscience and 4-H, along with Pheasants Forever, launched the project to build habitats at Corteva facilities across the U.S. and disseminate pollinator toolkits while providing youth leadership experiences.
