Bayer: Roundup settlement talks going fine

Bayer’s glyphosate settlement talks continue and the company’s Chief Operating Officer says they’re making good progress, “We’re well down the path of settling those as we communicated publicly some time ago. And that’s all going fine.”

Brett Begeman tells Brownfield Ag News it is the right path to take for growers, “You know, at the end of the day, as I talk with farmers and customers, the thing that I remind them of is we went in this with the expressed intent to ensure that glyphosate was available for farmers to utilize in their practices because it’s such an incredibly valuable tool.”

Bayer has already settled with several litigants seeking damages for cancer they claim was caused by the use of RoundUp after it lost some cases in court. Bayer stands by its claim that glyphosate does not cause cancer.
