2021 Fort Worth stock show is canceled
The 2021 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo has been canceled due to ongoing concerns related to COVID-19. The event’s organizers say the decision was made after consultations with infectious disease and public health professionals.
In a video announcement, Brad Barnes, president of the Stock Show says the show has only been canceled one other time, and that was during the height of World War II in 1943. He says with more than 1.2 million guests, exhibitors, and competitors converging on the Will Rogers complex over the event’s 23 day run, the chances to spread the coronavirus is too great of a risk to take.
Barnes says he’s confident the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo will return in 2022.
