More fall burndown expected in Minnesota

A southeast Minnesota field agronomist expects more fall burn down and more farmers transitioning to minimal or no till in his area.

Brian Buck is with Pioneer says, “The weather’s been great up here right now which does give us the window we need to make the applications.”

Jeff Moon, Corteva market development specialist in Minnesota and Wisconsin says it’s important for growers considering fall burndown to read the label and pay attention to the temperature, “If we can keep it above, you know, 38, 39, 40 degrees at night and in the daytime if we can get up in the 50s we can expect some pretty good weed control out of these fall burndown applications.”

Moon says growth regulators work best in warmer weather. Both Buck and Moon were part of an online Corteva media event this week.
