Rain delays in Michigan
Cool and wet weather last week in Michigan delayed most field work across the state.
The USDA says 70 percent of corn is mature and condition was steady at 55 percent good to excellent. Soybeans are 94 percent dropping leaves and 19 percent harvested with condition improving three points to 63 percent good to excellent.
As of Sunday, 51 percent of dry beans and 58 percent of sugarbeets were in good to excellent condition. Corn silage is 96 percent harvested, dry beans are 47 percent, and sugarbeets are 36 percent finished.
Growers are reporting rain and labor shortages have slowed apple harvest.
