Nebraska’s soybean harvest crosses halfway mark

Nebraska’s soybean harvest is moving quickly.

The latest crop report shows 55 percent of the crop has been harvested, up 26 points from last week and well ahead of the early-October five-year average of 25 percent.

Corn harvest advanced to 21 percent, up seven points from last week and six points ahead of the five-year average.

Sorghum harvest was at 17 percent, slightly ahead of average.  Dry edible bean harvest was at 82 percent.

Winter wheat planting was 80 percent complete with 33 percent of the crop emerged, well behind the 49 percent average.
