Illinois farmer calls $10 soybean sale a “pipe dream” come true
Illinois Soybean Association Chairman Doug Schroeder secured an impressive sale ahead of a farmer forum with Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue Monday.
“For all of us in the room, the thought of selling soybeans off the combine in central Illinois for something that starts with a 10 was really a pipe dream and it actually happened for me this morning, I sold a few on the way here.”
Schroeder thanked Perdue and Congressman Rodney Davis for their work on agriculture trade that is helping to improve prices.
“Thank you for coming here and listening. Great leadership starts with people that listen. Thank you for what you’ve done and continue to fight for us, we appreciate it.”
Schroeder farms corn and soybeans near Mahomet, Illinois. He was one of several Illinois ag leaders present at the forum in Rochester.
