Missouri crops progress as harvest continues
The USDA says cooler and dryer than normal conditions in the state last week allowed most crop conditions to improve slightly.
Missouri’s corn crop is rated 76 percent good to excellent condition.
Thirteen percent of the crop has been harvested, that’s half of the five-year average.
Seventy – five percent of Missouri soybeans are rated good to excellent with more than half of the soybean crop turning color, 36 percent ahead of a year ago.
Cotton harvest has begun with half of the crop rated good and 62 percent of cotton bolls opening.
Sixty-nine percent of rice is in good to excellent condition. Rice harvest is 16 percent complete, 22 percent behind a year ago.
