Harvest progress continues in Arkansas

Rice, soybean, and corn harvests in Arkansas continue at a steady pace.  Rice is 44 percent harvested with 92 percent of the crop mature and 61 percent rated good to excellent.  Cotton harvest is 1 percent complete with 62 percent of the crop opening bolls and 83 percent rated good to excellent.  Soybean harvest is 12 percent complete with 34 percent of the crop mature and 66 percent rated good to excellent.  Corn harvest is 62 percent complete with 98 percent of the crop mature. 

Twenty-two percent of peanuts have been dug with just 2 percent harvested and 94 percent is rated good to excellent. 

Alfalfa is rated 47 percent good.  Vegetables are rated 78 percent good to excellent

Fifty-seven percent of Topsoil and 70 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
