Bustos says addressing FSA cohesion would take “comprehensive approach”

A member of the House Agriculture Committee suggests making local Farm Service Agency offices run more cohesively would take a comprehensive approach.

Illinois Democrat Cheri Bustos says there are concerns about different structures from one county to the next, and a lack of FSA staff.

“The problem now too, and you’re probably seeing this worse right now, is this COVID has gotten in the way and made things even tougher.”

Bustos was asked about FSA services during the Women in Agribusiness virtual summit Thursday, and says she and many of her colleagues have been calling on USDA to do more.
