Brown says COVID-19 relief is needed soon
US Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio says more must be done to help people impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. He says the recently blocked pared down relief bill wasn’t enough.
“Senator McConnell seems to think we’ve done enough and it’s pretty clear to me, when there are still hundreds of thousands of unemployed Ohioans that if we don’t act it’s going to get worse, there’s no question it’s going to get worse again,” he says.
He tells Brownfield although the timing is unclear, another bill is needed soon.
“This economy is starting to stumble again,” he says. “We did it right six months ago, and we need to do it right again.”
Brown, a Democrat, is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
