Arkansas harvest behind last year and average
Harvest season is well underway in Arkansas but behind last year for most crops.

As of Sunday, the USDA reports Arkansas corn harvest is 25% complete, 10 percentage points behind last year and 27 points behind the five-year average. Corn dented reached 99% and 85% of the crop is mature. The crop is rated 70% good to excellent.
Rice harvest reached 10% complete, 10 points behind last year and 18 points behind average. 97% of the crop is headed with 56% mature. Arkansas rice is rated 71% good to excellent.
Soybean harvest began last week with 2% of the crop out of the ground, 5 points behind average. 41% of the crop is turning color with 22% dropping leaves and 13% mature.
Cotton is rated 81% good to excellent with 68% of bolls opening which is 18 points ahead of average.
