64% of Indiana corn, 66% of soybeans rated good to excellent

Dry conditions returned causing corn and soybean conditions to decline slightly in Indiana last week.

The USDA says 64 percent of corn and 66 percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent.

Eighty-six percent of the corn crop is in the dough stage and 35 percent is dented.

Ninety-one percent of the soybean crop is setting pods and 1 percent is dropping leaves.

The third cutting of alfalfa hay is 72 percent complete and the third cutting of other hay is 49 percent complete.
