Lane restrictions will be put in place at two locations on Monday, August, 24, 2020, as work continues on an emergency sewer repair in the 2600 block of North Houser Street, and work begins on the Park Avenue 4-to-3 Lane Conversion Project.
The emergency sewer repair was not completed Friday but all lanes will be open to traffic this weekend according to the City of Muscatine Department of Public Works. The lane reduction from three lanes to two in that block will be put back in place when work resumes at 7 a.m. Monday (August 24).
Meanwhile, the Park Avenue 4-to-3 Lane Conversion Project will begin on Monday when lane restrictions will be put in place on East 2nd Street from the intersection with Highway 92 to the intersection with 4th Street and Park Avenue. Heuer Construction, Inc., will begin full depth patching of the roadway on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Manatts, Inc., the prime contractor for the project, will meet with City of Muscatine engineers and project managers to update the work schedule early next week.
Alley #2 will be closed at times to through traffic from Sycamore to Cedar due to repair work from structural damage suffered in the back portion of the building at 211 East 2nd Street during last Monday’s rain event. Drivers are urged to use an alternate route until further notice.
