Illinois Farm Bureau planning virtual 2020 Annual Meeting

The Illinois Farm Bureau has decided to make their 2020 Annual Meeting a virtual event.

President Richard Guebert tells Brownfield they received confirmation that the Palmer House in Chicago, where the event is usually located, will not be open for the convention because of COVID-19 health concerns.

“We are not going to Chicago and with the way things look now we are looking at a virtual meeting the first Saturday of the month of December. “

After meeting with the IFB board on Friday, Guebert says their top priority is hosting a productive policy discussion.

“How do we get through our policy development process and make sure that it is cohesive, good discussion and good debate on whatever topics the delegates want to bring to the floor.”

Guebert says more information about the virtual 2020 Annual Meeting will be released as plans are finalized.
