Corn harvest continues in Arkansas
Corn harvest continues at a slow pace in Arkansas. Two percent of the corn crop has been harvested, with 36 percent of the crop mature and 87 percent dented.
Sixty-nine percent of the rice crop is rated good to excellent and 84 percent is headed, and 8 percent is mature. Eighty-eight percent of the cotton crop is rated good to excellent and 15 percent is opening bolls. Soybeans are rated 68 percent good to excellent with 11 percent coloring and 3 percent dropping leaves.
Ninety-four percent of peanuts are rated good to excellent with 99 percent pegging.
Alfalfa is rated 42 percent good with 86 percent of the second cutting completed. Vegetables are rated 71 percent good to excellent
Forty-four percent of Topsoil and 50 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
