Weather outlook varies

Some Midwestern farmers may see cooler and drier conditions for the next two weeks.

Beth Hall is the Indiana State Climatologist.

“For the rest of August there is a high probability that temperatures are going to stay below normal and there is significant probability that precipitation will stay below normal,” she says.

As for September and October, she says forecasts are suggesting there will be above average temperatures.

But, Hall says Hurricane Isaias could change that.

“The atmosphere was highly disturbed with Isaias coming through and so even though that three month outlook is showing probabilities for above normal temperatures, I am not sure if that outlook will continue,” she says.

Hall made these comments during a virtual Purdue panel this week.
