National FFA names 2020 American Star finalists

The National FFA Organization has announced the finalists for its top achievement awards for 2020. The American Star Awards recognizes FFA members who have developed outstanding skills through the completion of a supervised agricultural experience program.

Finalists for the American Star Farmer are Cole Ketterling of North Dakota, Nole Gerfen of Ohio, JaLeigh Reneé Oldenburg of Oklahoma, and Mikara Anderson of Pennsylvania.

American Star in Agribusiness finalists are William Kellum of Georgia,
Ely Matthew Boulds of Illinois, Hannah York of Kentucky, and Blake Kirchhoff of Nebraska.  

Finalists for American Star in Agriscience are Lauren Roberts of Florida, Maddie Sue Fugate of Illinois, Nicole Stevens of Oklahoma, and Jacob Bagby of Texas.

American Star in Ag Placement finalists are Ryan Adelbert Stewart of Kansas, Will Shelby of Oklahoma, Cole James Schock of South Dakota, and Wilson Nugent of Texas.

A panel of judges will interview the finalists and select one winner from each award category for the 93rd National FFA Convention and Expo, which will be held virtually.
