USDA NRCS Chief stepping down

The Chief of USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service is stepping down after two years. Matthew Lohr said in a Facebook post Saturday that he will be retiring to his farm in Broadway, Virginia. Lohr said stepping down is “bittersweet” but he is thankful to Ag Secretary Perdue and USDA Under Secretary Bill Northey for the opportunity to lead the agency. USDA has not announced Lohr’s replacement.
