Wisconsin starts Agriculture Youth Council

Wisconsin’s ag department is seeking fifteen upcoming high school seniors for its new Agriculture Youth Council.  Secretary Designee Randy Romanski says he’s excited to create the new opportunity for students to network with each other and state officials.  He says the Council will be incredibly valuable to the agency to share more about its programs and encourage the students to participate in ag policy development.

Selected students will serve a one-year term.  The virtual meetings will be held monthly, ending with an all-day final session in May.  Participants will work on a variety of topics, breakout sessions, and have opportunities to rotate through leadership positions within the group.

Interested Wisconsin students need to submit a completed one-page application, resume, 300-word essay, one-minute video, and letter of recommendation before August 21, 2020.
