MO State Fair Sale of Champions changes

The director of the Missouri State Fair says the Sale of Champions will be held this year, but with a twist.

Mark Wolfe tells Brownfield bidders will have the option to bid in a new way.

“[There] will be an opportunity for online bidding this year,” he said. “This will be new to the program.”

Wolfe said that’s not the only change…

“We will not have the actual livestock at the show arena for that (the sale), it’ll be done with video,” he said.

Wolfe said this will allow winning exhibitors leave the fairgrounds before the end of the original dates of the fair.

The fair’s marketing director, Kari Mergen, said livestock check-in dates will remain the same and the animals will be released as soon as possible following the show.
