NCGA evaluates 2020 victories and existing priorities

The National Corn Growers Association has documented 2020 highlights and plans for the remainder of the year in a mid-year report.

NCGA President Kevin Ross tells Brownfield although 2020 has posed many challenges, they are celebrating some victories.

“The finalization of USMCA and that coming into enforcement on July 1st. We had some trade schools going on across the Midwest and we had a lot of participation in those as well as a program we have going on putting in 50,000 fuel pumps that are capable of pumping at the E25 blend.”

He says the report has also helped them focus on goals for the next few months.

“Right now, short-term market improvement is really high on our list and figuring out what we can do to get rid of this large carry out and hopefully whittle that back down a bit.”

Ross says they are also working for more farmer and biofuels assistance in the next coronavirus relief package as well as moving forward with their high octane, low carbon legislation.
