Illinois crop conditions improved slightly last week
The good-to-excellent rating for Illinois corn and soybeans improved last week.
The USDA reports as of Sunday corn is rated 63% good to excellent, up 3 percentage points from the week before and soybeans are rated 67% good to excellent, a jump from 59% the previous week.
69% of the corn crop is silking with 9% in the dough stage while soybeans blooming reached 55% with 22% setting pods.
Winter wheat harvest is nearly complete with 94% harvested.
The second cutting of alfalfa hay harvested reached 75% with 8% of the third cutting harvested.
