Northey confirms more CFAP and timeline for next round

A top USDA official says farmers can expect the next round of Coronavirus Food Assistance Program Payments before the end of next month.

During a recent interview with Agri-Pulse, undersecretary of farm production and conservation Bill Northey said there should be enough money on hand to give farmers the remaining 20 percent of what they are eligible for ahead of the August 28th CFAP application deadline.

There had been questions about whether the entire $16 billion would be distributed.

Northey also pointed out Congress is considering another coronavirus aid package, and says lawmakers clearly recognize losses are well beyond the $16 billion being provided through CFAP.
