59% of Indiana corn, 60% of soybeans rated good to excellent

Pop-up showers brought relief to parts of Indiana last week.

The USDA says crop condition ratings fell slightly with 59 percent of corn and 60 percent of soybeans rated good to excellent.

Thirty percent of the corn crop is silking. Forty-four percent of soybeans are blooming, and nine percent are setting pods.

Winter wheat conditions held steady at 62 percent good to excellent.
The second cutting of alfalfa hay is 64 percent complete and the second cutting of other hay is 40 percent complete.
