Michigan Livestock Expo adapts

Michigan’s largest youth livestock event is taking a new form amid restrictions this year with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Michigan Livestock Expo, which typically takes place at Michigan State University Pavilion, is being moved to the Branch County Fairgrounds in Coldwater.

Exhibitors will “show and go” from livestock trailers to keep with social distancing restrictions. Starting July 14th, every day of the event a new species will be shown and the coordination of the annual Sale-Abration auction is still being organized.

More than half of Michigan’s county fairs and livestock events have been canceled because of Covid restrictions.
