COVID-19 leads to CAFNR cuts

In response to budget constraints from COVID-19, the University of Missouri’s College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources is phasing out its Food for the 21st Century program. In a statement to Brownfield, CAFNR dean, Chris Daubert, and associate dean, Shibu Jose, said the program was started over 30 years ago and served its purpose, leading to research programs in plant biology, animal science and bioengineering.

The University has also laid off over 120 employees and furloughed more than 2,600 as of June 10.
