States interpret dicamba ruling differently
The President of the Wisconsin Agribusiness Association says states are not interpreting EPA’s dicamba ruling equally.
Tom Bressner tells Brownfield for retailers in Wisconsin, if dicamba, “has been sold but just has not been applied, that you have the right to go ahead and apply that, but any product you have sitting in your warehouse that has not yet been sold must not be sold and be returned through a process back to the distributor.”
And he says its different for dicamba retailers just over the state line. “The State of Illinois interpreted that to say anything that is in your warehouse as of the 3rd (of June) that is sold or unsold, you have the right to spray and to sell to your customers.”
Bressner says he has reached out to Wisconsin ag retailers asking how the state’s interpretation will affect them, and Bressner says state ag officials are interested in what the retailers tell him.
