Revisiting herbicide plans with soybean replant
A field agronomist says farmers in delayed planting and replanting scenarios need to revisit their herbicide plans.
Chris Brown is a field agronomist for Burrus Seed in Illinois. He tells Brownfield smaller soybean plants, delayed canopy closure and extended windows in between herbicide applications can increase the weed count.
For farmers who have already planted their soybeans he recommends adding a residual herbicide with each pass this year. For farmers who have soybeans left to plant or replant he suggests…

Brown says dicamba users need to keep state specific restrictions in mind (including the June 20th application cut-off date in Illinois) and follow state guidance based on the recent 9th circuit court ruling regarding XtendiMax, Engenia and FeXapan dicamba herbicides.
