Michigan modifies pesticide applicator program

The Michigan Department of Agriculture has created a temporary program to become new pesticide applicators and trainers.

The agency says they want to allow the 2,500 new applicators who typically take in-person exams each year access to virtual alternatives during the current state of emergency and accreditation through the end of 2022.

Registered applicators can only apply general use pesticides in the categories in which they are trained.

The program also allows certified applicators to become approved trainers.
