Farmer says dicamba ruling is disappointing

Southwestern Indiana Farmer Mark Seib says the ninth circuit court ruling on dicamba is disappointing.

“We don’t have a lot of tools in our toolbox to use on resistant weeds and I don’t know how the courts will end up falling on this yet but we always hate to see a chemical being pulled off the market,” he says.

But, he says temperature inversion and how it impacts dicamba application will need to be addressed.

“Now whether that can be done by the chemical companies to address those and to lesson that blow or whether it’s going to be that the courts are going to say we can’t use it– we’ll have to wait and see how all that plays out,” he says.

Seib grows corn and soybeans in Posey County.
