Arkansas crops: 90% rice, 66% soybeans planted

There was a decent jump in planting progress across Arkansas despite another round of moderate to heavy precipitation.

Ninety percent of rice has been planted with 81 percent emerged, with 64 percent of the crop rated good to excellent.

Sixty-six percent of soybeans have been planted, 57 percent emerged, and 63 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Ninety-one percent of cotton has been planted and 71 percent has emerged, and 76 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent

Eighty-nine percent of peanuts have been planted and 72 percent emerged, and 92 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

Sixty-seven percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent.

Fourteen percent of the winter-wheat crop has been harvested.

Fifty-seven percent of the hay crop has had its first cutting and 50 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

92 percent of Topsoil and 89 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
