Nebraska’s corn crop is off to a good start

The first condition rating of the season for Nebraska corn has 82 percent of the crop rated good to excellent.

Seventy-seven percent of the corn crop has emerged, compared to 61 percent average.

Soybeans rated 81 percent good to excellent. Soybean emergence was 56 percent compared to the five-year average of 25 percent.

Sorghum planting stands at 56 percent.

Winter wheat rated 70 percent good to excellent. Heading was 22 percent, behind the 40 percent average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 82 percent good to excellent.
