EPA proposes rule for transparency of agency regulations

The Environmental Protection Agency is one of the first to follow President Trump’s executive order to promote transparency across all government agencies.

The EPA has announced their proposed rule to establish requirements and procedures for the issuance of guidance which would ensure EPA’s guidance documents are developed with appropriate review, accessible and transparent to the public and allow public participation in the development of significant documents.

Ag Retailers Association CEO Daren Coppock says a consistent process to provide public input into the development of regulations is critical to the ag industry. He says this rule will allow their voices to be heard and ensure new rules are guided by sound science, practicality and are economically feasible.
