South Dakota corn planting 67% complete, soybeans at 40%
Nearly 70 percent of South Dakota’s corn crop has been planted.
The USDA says as of Sunday, progress is at 67 percent with emergence near the five-year average at 20 percent.
Soybean planting, at 40 percent, is ahead of last year and about a week ahead of normal.
Spring wheat planting is 91 percent complete, compared to 63 percent a year ago and 89 percent normally.
Almost 80 percent of the winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent, a slight improvement from last week.
