72% of Indiana corn, 56% of soybeans planted
Planting progressed in Indiana last week before rainfall halted fieldwork activity.
According to the USDA, corn is 72 percent planted and 31 percent emerged. Soybeans are 56 percent planted and 18 percent emerged.
Some damage to winter wheat and early planted soybeans was reported from the previous weeks’ frosts. Sixty-four percent of the winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent.
