Minnesota House passes Ag Finance Bill

The Minnesota House of Representatives has passed legislation aimed at preventing grain bin accidents.

Supplemental Ag Finance bill co-author Jeff Brand, a Democrat from St. Peter, says $100,000 is appropriated for outreach, the development of grain bin safety curriculum, and the creation of a digital application that would allow users to remotely shut off grain bin augers and dial 911.

“This bill isn’t a silver bullet, however I do believe it is a start in the right direction.”

The House also passed a 150-day extension of the Farmer-Lender Mediation Act that Brand helped introduce.
