School district offers food distribution info for Muskie families, community

The Muscatine Community School District has released the following list of food distribution available to the community:

Elementary Families: Bags of Blessings

On Thursdays, Bags of Blessings will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who have elementary-aged students until we run out of bags at each site.  We will distribute bags from Jefferson, Franklin from 11-11:30 and the School District Board Office from 11 a.m. to Noon. Distribution times will follow lunch distribution time.

Middle School and High School Families: Locker Bags

Locker Bags will be distributed to middle school and high school students on Thursdays at the District Board Office from 11 a.m. to Noon.  We will follow the policy such that the first 50 who are in need of bags and are the first to arrive will be served until bags run out for the day.

River Bend Mobile Food Pantry: Families with Students in MCSD

Families with students in the School District: The River Bend Mobile Food Pantry will distribute on Tuesday, April 14th and April 28th (twice per month!) from 4:30 to 6:00 at the Board Office.  We are starting a new distribution policy.  All people will remain in their cars and drive up to the Board Office canopy.  You will need to pop your trunk and we will load a box of prepacked food.  If your trunk does not open, then you will need to continue to drive under the canopy and pull around to the side of the building. Once on the side of the building, you will need to exit your car and load a prepackaged box into your vehicle.
