Tyson plant in Logansport, Indiana, to resume operations this week

Tyson Fresh Meats has announced it will resume limited production at its Logansport, Indiana, facility this week.

The announcement was made after a plant tour with local health and government officials, a union representative, and medical professionals.

The pork processing facility halted operations on April 25th to test workers for COVID-19.

Employees were asked to self-isolate until their results returned. Tyson says it continues to work with local health officials to verify test results.

Senior Vice President of Pork Todd Neff says the company has taken additional precautions to reassure team members that they are returning to a safe work environment. He says the company added workstation barriers, installed more hand sanitizer dispensers, and did additional deep cleaning and sanitation.

The Logansport facility is the first of several Tyson plants to receive a mobile health clinic to provide community-based services including diagnostic testing for COVID-19.
