Corn planting jumps to 44% complete

As of Sunday, 44 percent of Missouri corn was planted, a big jump from the week before. But, emergence is off 17 percentage points from the five-year average. Seven percent of soybeans had been planted, which is a bit ahead of last year.

Twenty percent of rice had emerged. Forty-two-percent of winter wheat had emerged, well ahead of last year. More than 80% of the state’s winter wheat remains in fair to good condition.
