Illinois Farm Bureau applauds Trump administration’s SRE decision
Illinois Farm Bureau President Richard Guebert says he welcomes the Trump administration’s decision not to appeal the recent ruling by the 10th circuit court.
The ruling states that the EPA abused its discretion in granting small refinery exemptions (SRE’s) to three small refineries in 2016.
Guebert says defending the integrity of the Renewable Fuel Standard is a key national priority for IFB in 2020 and he is glad to see the administration took their member’s concerns seriously during their annual March Leaders to Washington trip.
He says the issue has become even more important as their members face COVID-19 and potential disruptions to ethanol plants in Illinois.
