Groups sue EPA over glyphosate re-approval

The Center for Food Safety and several related groups have filed a federal lawsuit against the EPA for its re-approval in January of glyphosate.

The groups say juries in several states have found that glyphosate causes cancer, ruling in favor of plaintiffs who were exposed, especially farm workers.

The Farmworker Association of Florida says the “EPA must protect human health before one more person suffers acute or chronic illness from exposure.”

Bayer Ag reportedly is working on settlement talks, as it defends the safety of Monsanto’s RoundUp, which is now Bayer’s product.
